Getting your hands out of your room
Every room does this differently, and one of them does not write files at all. Here is each one, with the folder path and the step people miss.
Winamax
Winamax writes hand histories to your own machine, and can also send you an archive of any date range from its servers.
PokerStars
PokerStars writes local hand histories and will also email you an archive of hands you no longer have.
GGPoker
No HUDs allowedNo local filesGGPoker writes nothing to your machine. Hands come only from a requested export, delivered by email.
partypoker
partypoker writes local hand histories once you switch the option on in the client.
888poker
888poker writes local hand histories to a folder under your documents.
ACR and the Winning Poker Network
ACR, Black Chip Poker and the other WPN skins write local hand histories once enabled.
iPoker network
iPoker skins write hand histories as XML, in a folder named after whichever skin you play on.
If your room bans trackers, this is the only study you have
GGPoker block third-party HUDs and trackers. That leaves their players with no statistics on their own game at all, while everyone on PokerStars or Winamax has a decade of tracker data on theirs.
Reading an export after the session closes that gap without touching the rule. The file comes from the room, the reading happens when the game is over, and nothing runs alongside play. Your session statistics are computed from your own hands, free, with no tracker installed.
Common questions
Which rooms can Poker Debrief read?
PokerStars, GGPoker, Winamax, partypoker, 888poker, the Winning Poker Network including ACR, and the iPoker network. Each has its own reader rather than one generic pattern, because the rooms disagree about how a raise is written and getting that wrong silently corrupts every pot after it.
My room bans HUDs. Can I still use this?
Yes, and it is arguably worth more to you than to anyone else. A HUD ban stops software that runs alongside the game and feeds you information while you play. It does not stop you reading a file the room itself gives you after the session is over. That is the only kind of study available to you, and it is exactly what this is.
Do I need a tracker like PokerTracker or Holdem Manager?
No. The hand history file from your room is the raw material, and everything here reads it directly. Statistics like VPIP, PFR and 3-bet are computed from your hands rather than accumulated by a tracker running in the background.
How far back can I go?
It depends on the room and it is the thing most players discover too late. Rooms that write local files keep them until a retention setting deletes them. GGPoker writes nothing locally and its export window is widely reported to reach back about 90 days. Export at the end of each month rather than when you eventually want to study.
Your session, debriefed
These calculators answer one spot. A debrief reads the whole session: the hands that decided it, reviewed street by street, and your leaks priced in big blinds. The first one is free and complete, not a preview.
No card. No subscription. $3 a session after that, and credits never expire.
